Dynamics GP 2018 R2: Is It Time For An Upgrade?

Collins Computing’s Senior Consultant, Abra Gilman, has created a comprehensive PDF that explains the benefits for existing Microsoft Dynamics GP customers upgrading to the latest version.

How and Why to Take Advantage of an Upgrade

Do I Have to Upgrade?

  • If you pay enhancement, take advantage of all the new features and technologies.
  • Year-end updates are supported for up to three releases back.
  • GP 2015 will receive a year-end update this year, but primary support ends April 14, 2020.

Version-to-Version Upgrades to GP 2018 R2

There is no direct upgrade from Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013 to GP 2018 R2—you must perform at least two hops:

  • GP 2015: You need to be on version 14.00.1159 to upgrade directly to 2018 R2.
  • GP 2016: You need to be on version 16.00.0741 to upgrade to the latest 2018 R2.

Management Reporter 2012 CU16 is compatible with Microsoft Dynamics GP 2018 (with a patch for SQL Server 2017).
