Soundcast, a global provider of wireless outdoor Bluetooth speakers, was spun off from its parent company and faced a critical choice: stay with Oracle NetSuite or implement a new solution. After a demonstration by their IT partner, Collins Computing, they selected Acumatica Cloud ERP on a SaaS license, deploying its Financial Management and Distribution modules. “Everything that we wanted in our software, Acumatica had it,” said Elia Sepulveda, Soundcast’s Accountant.
Their decision brought several key benefits:
- No per-user licensing fees
- Offsite data access for all team members
- Centralized sales data in a single location
- User-friendly navigation
- Simplified financial reporting
- Flexible deployment options: cloud, private cloud, or hybrid
“NetSuite is solely a cloud service—in my eyes, that seems like more of a lease. You never own the system,” said Norman Bradley, Soundcast’s IT representative. By contrast, with Acumatica, “we can actually have ownership of the software and host our data on-premise. There’s even an option for a hybrid system, syncing to the cloud for added security.”
The cost savings were significant: “If we had gone with NetSuite, we would have paid at least $10,000 more per year,” Norman noted. He concluded, “I see good things coming out of Acumatica at this point.”
